About Us
Empowering minds through books, fostering connections through literacy, and building a stronger community together.
We are excited to introduce ourselves as the Friends of the Afton Ridge Library, a new group of community members who have come together to support and strengthen our public library. We believe in the vital role libraries play in education, connection, and lifelong learning, and we’re committed to helping our library continue to thrive.
As Friends of the Afton Ridge Library, we’ll be working to raise awareness, advocate for funding, organize events, and support library programs that benefit people of all ages. Whether through volunteering our time, raising funds, or spreading the word, we’re here to make a positive impact.
We know the library is more than just a place for books—it’s a hub for ideas, discovery, and community. We’re proud to stand behind it, and we invite others who share our passion to join us in this important work.

Our Mission
The purpose of FARL is to cultivate relationships with Cabarrus County residents interested in libraries; to promote and support knowledge of the library’s function, resources, services, and needs; to encourage cooperative efforts between the library and FARL; and to help support our local community of readers and knowledge seekers.
